Bridget collects only what it needs to run the product:
Bridget uses a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to power scanning, ingredient parsing, and meal suggestions. Depending on which feature you use, that means sending your fridge/pantry photos (to identify ingredients), pantry text you type directly (to parse it into structured items), or your current pantry item list (to generate recipe suggestions) to the AI provider for processing. On our side, this content is processed in memory to produce the response and is not saved to disk or to any database of ours — but it may be retained briefly by the AI provider per their own data-retention policy, since we do not control how long a third-party processor holds request data on their end.
Your account data above — pantry, recipes, scan history, usage records — is stored in our managed Postgres database (hosted by Neon); the exceptions are noted in their own bullets above. Everything we do store has standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access limited to the app's own servers. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
We record basic product-usage events (for example, which features get used) linked to your account, and use them only to run and improve the product described here — never sold or shared for advertising. We will not do anything with your data beyond running and improving the product described here.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings — this immediately and permanently removes your user record and everything linked to it. You can also request deletion via our contact form.
