What we collect, and why

Bridget collects only what it needs to run the product:

  • Your email address — used to sign you in with a magic link and to send you expiry reminders (which you can turn off any time in Settings).
  • Your pantry contents and scan history(item names, quantities, categories, expiry dates, and metadata about when a scan happened) — this is the core of the product: it's how we show you what you have and suggest meals.
  • The date you accepted this policy — kept so we can show we have your consent.

Your fridge photos

When you scan your fridge, your photos are sent to our AI provider to identify ingredients, processed in memory, and then discarded. We do not save your photos to disk or to any database.

Where it's stored

Everything above is stored in our managed Postgres database (hosted by Neon), with standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access limited to the app's own servers. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Using data to improve Bridget

We may look at aggregated or anonymized product usage (for example, which features get used) to improve Bridget. We will not do anything with your data beyond running and improving the product described here.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings — this immediately and permanently removes your user record and everything linked to it. You can also request deletion via our contact form.
